Fighter follows Jan Wiener and Arnošt Lustig — two larger-than-life Holocaust survivors and longtime friends — as they set out on a road trip retracing Jan's wartime escape from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia. What begins as a buddy picture between two crackling old men becomes something stranger and far more honest: an argument about memory, resistance, and what it actually costs to fight back. It is a film about Jewish survival that is also, against all odds, very funny — Newsday called it the "funniest film of the Summer."
